Where to go, what to see.

This May (9th – 13th) marks the fourth year of London Craft Week, a week dedicated to showcasing established and emerging makers, designers, brands and galleries from around the world. With over 200 events on the schedule, we created don’t miss list to help you make the most of the week.

 

Modern Prêt-à-Couture at Delpozo

Discover Maria Svarbova’s photography series, which inspired Delpozo’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection ‘Musicalia’. Visit the London flagship to see the atelier embroiderers at work and sit down for a conversation on art, fashion and craftsmanship between Maria and Caroline Issa, Fashion Director of Tank Magazine.

Jochen Holz and Flow Gallery

Glass artist Jochen Holz discusses his solo exhibition Superficies at Flow Gallery. Holz explores the rarely practiced glassblowing technique of lampworking. His work focuses on the materiality of borosilicate glass, using a unique process to produce rich textures and complex shapes. Tea is served in Jochen Holz glassware.

British Fashion Council Panel Discussion on the Craft of Sustainability

The BFC host a panel discussion on Sustainability, a pillar of their Positive Fashion initiative. Crafting Fashion through a Sustainable Lens with fashion designers Christopher Raeburn, Bethany Williams and founder of The Sustainable Angle, Nina Marenzi chaired by Frances Corner.

Beyond Surface at the G.F Smith Show Space

A gravity-defying installation by architect Kody Kato that demonstrates the properties of folding and strength using Takeo paper. Explore beautiful, innovative and technically-advanced papers from G . F Smith with creative partner Made Thought.

The Conran Shop presents a Unique Tekio Light Installation

The Conran Shop welcomes the Global Market Exhibition to its Marylebone store: a curation of handcrafted products that showcase the finest in artisanal techniques. Undergoing an enlightening transformation by Santa & Cole, The Conran Shop is the first UK retailer to unveil the paper Tekio Light, with a display of innovative illumination.

The Flipside at Selfridges

The Flipside is a multisensory exhibition held by Selfridges in The Old Selfridges Hotel – a vast, one-of-a-kind location. The exhibition provides a thought-provoking journey into altered states of luxury, demonstrated by Google, Loewe, Mr Lyan, Thom Browne, Gareth Pugh, Louis Vuitton and Byredo.
