Since its release in 2016 Elizabeth Strout's novel, My Name is Lucy Barton has consistently been on people's you-must-read-this list. In June the story will be brought to the stage at the Bridge Theatre starring Academy Award nominee, Laura Linney. While technically not an activity you can actually do in April, we predict tickets will sell fast so book now and thank yourself later.

To use one of the most overused lines in copy during this season - florals, for spring, groundbreaking. But truly, bluebell season is magic, especially after what feels like a very long and grey Winter. Head to Kent or Sussex towards the end of April to catch the best of them.

The London marathon is back on the 22nd. Will you be taking part? Even if you’re not running, we recommend heading down to the route to revel in the energy that comes from crowds of people cheering on friends and strangers alike. Humanity at its best.

GO: eco-friendly Fashion at the V&A
From a dress made from Vegea (a leather alternative made from grape waste) to Emma Watson’s Met Gala Calvin Klein dress, made from recycled plastic bottles to Greenpeace t-shirts, it’s all on display at this smart exhibition that traces the relationship between fashion and the natural world from the 1600s to present day.
